The technology backyard of the world, coexisting with more than generous helpings of mystique, romance, and spirituality. India has indeed a come a long way from being all about elephants and snake charmers. No matter how much things change, though, the dangers lurking in any international trip apply to India as well, making insurance for Indian tourists almost a necessity.
However, to get the most out of your trip to India, remember to enjoy the country as it is. What many tourists have reported is just being overwhelmed by the sea of humanity in India. What has also affected a lot of people is the poverty that is evident, especially in cities. That could dampen the most enthusiastic traveler.
It could be difficult to enjoy the country in all its splendor if you are emotionally disturbed by the sights of the streets of India. The best advice that one can give is to not hold yourself back. Let yourself experience the emotions, whatever they might be.
It's all part of the experience of India. Remember to always follow basic health safety precautions. Wash your hands often with soap, and drink boiled or bottled water. Who knows, perhaps you will be moved enough to return to the country to help out on a mission!
