Alcohol consumption can prevent you from claiming insurance
Filed Under: News
Holidaymakers who are on the bliss of enjoying life should think twice before losing their control due to the consumption of excess alcohol. This is because the exclusions document of any tourist insurance policy mentions that expenses that arise due to injuries or accidents arising because of consumption of alcohol would not be paid back even if the claim are filed. The insurance provider has the rights to reject such claims. Surprisingly, almost 70% of the people who are on vacation are unaware of this fact.
Survey reports revealed that a huge percentage of individuals were not aware that they may have to foot the bill from their pockets if they meet with the accident due to drunken drinking. Almost 80% of the tourists reported that they normally get drunk while vacationing.
In addition, tourist insurance providers have not fixed any alcohol percentage as ‘acceptable’. This means that even if you are not too drunk but have fallen down from the stairs or broken are bone, you may not be paid for your medical expenses!
This strong message is also in the case of losing personal belongings like cameras, mobile phones and passports. Such claims are also found to be strongly rejected by the tourist insurance providers.
